Adezzo – a new word from the fusion of the two Italian words “adesso” and “intermezzo”
To create an oasis for our guests where they can spoil themselves for a few moments, where they can forget about the frenzy of everyday life and where they can indulge their taste buds with delicious food, sense of smell with freshly roasted coffee, relax in loungy atmosphere and discover their guilty pleasures along the way.
I adore coffee. I drink as many as seven espressos a day and it always has the same effect. It makes me feel who I am. It opens my mind and makes me forget the meaning of time, space, and transience. It brings me right here, right now. It brings me back to life. In this moment, I may even forget where I started my journey and where I plan to go. In this moment, it no longer matters.
The only things that matter are right here and now. The only things I possess and have ever possessed are here and now….in this room….nowhere else. In this very moment, I am experiencing and living the most beautiful moment of my life. The taste and aroma of the espresso remind me of that. My starting point no longer exists. It has become a shadow of events, time and space, which have slowly sunk into the misty depths of the past. The destination I’m headed to is still somewhere out there in the future, uncertain, or may not even exist. The fruit of my desire is but a projection of my imagination.
Without the espresso, my real life wouldn’t exist today. I would merely be its silent witness, watching it unfold past me. The past and the future are fiction. Here and now are all I have. And my espresso…. it is my “present” Present as both my “moment in time” and my “gift”. It is my reminder that being aware of the present moment is a gift of life. Espresso enriches my life many times every day. Unless I have one, I am lost.

So I came to the fine city of Scranton as an entire noobie. It has a small town feel with an interesting mix of locally owned shops with commercial chains. Walking around town, I stumbled on this unique coffee shop right near the center of the city. Lo and behold a diamond in the rough.
Stepping into the coffee shop feels like you’re being transported to an industrial retro spot straight out of Brooklyn. The outdoor seating is reminiscent of the “secret gardens” oftentimes found in NYC.
Service was solid and the barista was friendly. Fresh coffee and tea are available as well as a small selection of desserts and snacks. The very berry Napoleon was awesome.
The decor and atmosphere really set it apart. Don’t expect any of today’s hits to be playing in the background. Instead keep your ears peeled for relaxing and soothing music from around the world.
Free wifi is available so it’s a great spot to meet up with friends or to do work solo. When I’m in Scranton again, this is gonna be my go to spot.

” A new coffee shop in Scranton aims to be a remedy for the daily grind.
” Doctors Robert Paulino and Mladen Jecmenica felt compelled to provide cheer for the community.
” A nice alternative to corporate Starbucks. Reasonably priced and good selections. Relaxing atmosphere with artsy vibe. “
” Great hidden gem in downtown Scranton. Very easy to find. Perfect place to do work or hangout. The coffee and tea is really good and the atmosphere is relaxed and chill. They use local coffee which is awesome because they support local businesses. I sat here for hours with my friend while she did school work and just hung out. They have lunch and breakfast items as well as packaged wraps and a great assortment of cakes, bagels, and pastries. All foods are packaged and can be taken to go. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable. Absolutely love this place! “
” Spectacular coffee shop hidden in the middle of downtown Scranton. Very good updated urban city feel which was much needed. This place is always fast and good. No complaints.
Also they are dog friendly which is nice if I’m walking my pooch downtown. ”
