Our passion for coffee
I adore coffee. I drink as many as seven espressos a day and it always has the same effect. It makes me feel who I am. It opens my mind and makes me forget the meaning of time, space, and transience. It brings me right here, right now. It brings me back to life. In this moment, I may even forget where I started my journey and where I plan to go. In this moment, it no longer matters.
The only things that matter are right here and now. The only things I possess and have ever possessed are here and now….in this room….nowhere else. In this very moment, I am experiencing and living the most beautiful moment of my life. The taste and aroma of the espresso remind me of that. My starting point no longer exists. It has become a shadow of events, time and space, which have slowly sunk into the misty depths of the past. The destination I’m headed to is still somewhere out there in the future, uncertain, or may not even exist. The fruit of my desire is but a projection of my imagination.
Without the espresso, my real life wouldn’t exist today. I would merely be its silent witness, watching it unfold past me. The past and the future are fiction. Here and now are all I have. And my espresso…. it is my “present” Present as both my “moment in time” and my “gift”. It is my reminder that being aware of the present moment is a gift of life. Espresso enriches my life many times every day. Unless I have one, I am lost.

First Impressions
So I came to the fine city of Scranton as an entire noobie. It has a small town feel with an interesting mix of locally owned shops with commercial chains. Walking around town, I stumbled on this unique coffee shop right near the center of the city. Lo and behold a diamond in the rough.
Stepping into the coffee shop feels like you’re being transported to an industrial retro spot straight out of Brooklyn. The outdoor seating is reminiscent of the “secret gardens” oftentimes found in NYC.
Service was solid and the barista was friendly. Fresh coffee and tea are available as well as a small selection of desserts and snacks. The very berry Napoleon was awesome.
The decor and atmosphere really set it apart. Don’t expect any of today’s hits to be playing in the background. Instead keep your ears peeled for relaxing and soothing music from around the world.
Free wifi is available so it’s a great spot to meet up with friends or to do work solo. When I’m in Scranton again, this is gonna be my go to spot.
